Identification of Emerging Employment Sectors

In an ever-evolving economy, Kashi Foundation conducts research and field analysis to identify emerging sectors that can generate employment, especially for youth and rural populations. We focus on sectors such as heritage management, cultural tourism, digital documentation, ecological restoration, and traditional crafts where India has a comparative advantage. The Foundation maps skills, assesses market needs, and engages with industry experts to understand the future of work in both urban and rural contexts. These insights are used to inform training programs, entrepreneurial incubation, and public policy recommendations. We also promote grassroots innovation and digital literacy to enable marginalized communities to participate in new economic opportunities. Our goal is to create a forward-looking employment strategy that leverages India’s cultural capital and technological potential to build a resilient, inclusive, and future-ready workforce.
