The Buddhist Research and Tourism Area Promotion Centre functions as a specialised institutional hub dedicated to the systematic study, preservation, and promotion of the Buddhist heritage in its historical, philosophical, artistic, and archaeological dimensions. Its mandate encompasses rigorous academic research as well as the strategic planning and promotion of Buddhist tourism circuits linking significant heritage sites across India and beyond. Through collaborative engagements with universities, monastic institutions, and tourism agencies, the Centre strives to promote responsible cultural tourism as a vehicle for heritage conservation, sustainable economic development, and the advancement of intercultural dialogue and peace-building. The Centre’s programmes and research activities are under the supervision of Dr. Rohit Rawat, Dr. Ajay Kumar, and Mr. Shubham Rai.
