Ganga River Study and Analysis Centre
The Ganga River Study and Analysis Centre is dedicated to the comprehensive, multidisciplinary study of the Ganga River, examining its ecological, hydrological, cultural, and socio-economic dimensions. Recognising the Ganga’s central role in India’s spiritual, cultural, and economic life, the Centre undertakes scientific research on water quality, biodiversity, riverine ecosystems, and the socio-cultural practices associated with the river. Its work includes field-based monitoring, data analysis, and policy advocacy to support sustainable river management. By integrating traditional ecological knowledge with modern scientific tools, the Centre seeks to contribute to the long-term preservation and rejuvenation of the Ganga. The operational and programme activities of the Centre are directed by Mr. Nirbhay Mishra, Dr. Prem Kumar, and Mrs. Amisha Pandey.
