Religious and Cultural Tourism
Kashi Foundation actively promotes religious and cultural tourism as a means to connect India’s heritage with sustainable development. Recognizing the spiritual and cultural significance of sites like Kashi, the Foundation works to create models of tourism that are inclusive, ecologically sensitive, and community-based. We engage in research and outreach that highlights the importance of sacred geographies, intangible heritage, and local narratives in tourism development. Training modules, visitor orientation programs, and capacity-building initiatives for local stakeholders are key components of our approach. In partnership with academic and government bodies, we design tourism frameworks that prioritize conservation, accessibility, and education. Religious and cultural tourism is positioned not only as a tool for economic revitalization but also as a way to enhance cultural pride, interfaith harmony, and global cultural diplomacy. Our vision is to make tourism a means of experiential learning rooted in India’s civilizational values.
